Me and La Fenosa: a love affair during my holidays in Marina di Camerota

The wild and uncontaminated nature of Cilento on one side, the blue sea on the other. Yes, the scenery is spectacular. And waking up like that – believe me – it’s a different story altogether!

Some pictures featured on the site were enough to convince me to choose the tourist village La Fenosa for my summer holidays in Marina di Camerota.

Two good reasons to choose La Fenosa

Once I got there, I realized two things.

The first: panoramic views take your breath away

The second: there are many other good reasons to stop here to recharge your batteries after a year of work.

Today I can say it: best choice I could never have ever made.

A priceless comfort: tranquility

Nature aside, the first thing that struck me about this village was tranquility. It does not host too many people (no more than 140 during high season) and the animators are not nagging.

They are polite, they do not insist too much. And perhaps for this reason too – after various traumatic experiences with animators of other resorts I visited in the past – I participated in some of their initiatives. And, I must admit, I also had fun!

After all, it was clear to me from the moment I took my bags out of my car that I would have had a great time here. The kindness of managers and staff immediately won me over! They made themselves available, making me feel like a king.

The cottage: just like my house

Then came the cottage: clean, comfortable, beautiful. Practical. I felt at home. In addition, we had the opportunity to cook and eat outdoors, just as I had asked when we made our reservation.

Actually, my wife cooked very few times. It did not take us long to realize that we could not miss the opportunity to eat in the resort restaurant.

Restaurant for fancy palates

It was a really pleasant discovery for the palate! During our vacation week in Cilento, the Chef made us try some typical specialties that to define excellent would be reductive.

Fresh and genuine products for beautiful dishes to see and … devour! And prices are definitely within reach.

Not just food, though! One of the reasons that led me to choose La Fenosa was the beach.

A short walk in nature and here, in front of my eyes, the show offered free by Mother Nature.

Cala d’Arconte: the most beautiful beach there is

Among the rocks overlooking the sea, is the white sand of Cala d’Arconte. If it is not the most beautiful of Cilento, it is a very close second. And what about its warm and transparent waters, do we want to talk about it?

No, words can not convey the idea of the beauty of this place. You would like your days to never end. Even here tranquility is the master.

It almost seems that the shape of the territory wants to protect you, to protect you from prying eyes.

Cala d’Arconte conveys a sense of intimacy, the idea of enjoying a privilege only granted to a few.

Whirlpools and cocktails in the pool: what fun!

Even the swimming pool, however, has its own reason. And I must say that more than once I had the pleasure of trying it. You know when you’re looking for something special to relax?

Here, the pool was my “retreat” to recover from the holiday toil …

I stopped there for a dip in the whirlpool after an excursion in the Cilento National Park, and fell in love with it.

It became my regular afternoon date. It was made even more enjoyable by the excellent cocktails prepared by the bartenders of the American Bar.

By the way: we also spent pleasant evenings poolside, in the company of other resort guests and staff, with whom there was full harmony from the first moment.

When those days and nights come back to me, laughter and fun, nostalgia awakens. With the desire to come back soon!
